Rewind back to 2017, where we saw former Melodifestivalen star Molly Sandén return with a new look and more importantly, a new single. That single Rygg Mot Rygg kicked off a chain of releases from Molly, culminating in the release of her latest album, Större.
Although this isn’t fresh news, what is fresh is the release of one of these album tracks as a single. The song is called Sand, and is one of the slower tracks of the album. The song has had over 3.5 million streams on Spotify and it’s easy to see why.
The ballad style song acts as a perfect balance between the ‘Melodifestivalen’ Molly to the refreshed Molly. This refreshed style has seen a language change, where a lot of her previous releases were in English whereas her latest album boasts a Swedish language line-up. It’s a more contemporary and dare we say, improved style for Molly that we hope she continues with into the future.
The song was written by Molly in collaboration with Maria Jane Smith, Kevin Högdahl and Victor Thell. The video clip which was directed by Rami Hanna is featured below!
