Commonly at this time of year, national broadcasters opting for national selections open their submission periods where potential Eurovision participants enter their potential Eurovision songs.
Norway is no exception, and the Norwegian broadcaster NRK have revealed that over 1000 entries have been submitted for their national final, Melodi Grand Prix. Although this is an incredible amount of submissions, it’s actually down on last year’s number which was 1200.
The thousand entries that were submitted now have to be reduced to just 10 competing entries for Melodi Grand Prix. One of those 10 entries will be selected to represent Norway at Eurovision 2019.
The show will be held on the 2nd of March at the Oslo Spektrum.
