Swedish broadcaster SVT have revealed who will be hosting the Swedish national selection, Melodifestivalen! The show is one of the most popular among Eurovision fans for the spectacular stage performances and overall quality of music.
Melodifestivalen 2019 will feature four hosts, with those being,
- Marika Carlsson – A well-known stand-up comedian and television personality. Her most famous role has been in the TV4 show Parlamentet, a political parody programme which has been broadcast since 1999
- Sarah Dawn Finer – A singer-songwriter and actress who is no stranger to Melodifestivalen or Eurovision. She has participated at Melodifestivalen twice as well as hosted the competition back in 2012. She has been a part of Eurovision as a vote spokesperson as well as featuring in the intervals as her comedy alter-ego, Lynda Woodruff in both 2013 and 2016
- Kodjo Akolor – A Swedish radio and television personality who has been previously voted as the Best Male Host at the Swedish Radio Awards. He has also featured on a discussion show on SVT
- Eric Saade – Perhaps the most well-known name among Eurovision fans, as Eric participated in Melodifestivalen a total of three times, and with one of those songs he participated at Eurovision. His performance of the song ‘Popular’ gained him 3rd place at Eurovision 2011

Semi-Final 1 – Gothenburg – February 2nd
Semi-Final 2 – Malmö – February 9th
Semi-Final 3 – Leksand – February 16th
Semi-Final 4 – Lidköping – February 23rd
Andra Chansen (Second Chance round) – Nyköping- March 2nd
Final – Stockholm – March 9th
So far only one participant is officially confirmed, with that being The Lovers of Valdaro, however plenty of big names have been thrown around in the annual Melodifestivalen rumour mill! Stay tuned for the *official* announcement of who will be participating at next year’s contest!
