Belgium have continued with the recent tradition of internally selecting their act, with the broadcaster RTBF having now announced their 2019 entrant.
It has now been announced that 18 year old Eliot (Eliot Vassamillet) will represent Belgium with an entry written by Pierre Dumoulin. Pierre previously wrote City Lights which was performed by Blanche at Eurovision 2017, bringing Belgium a 4th place finish at the contest. He is also the composer and leader of the Belgian group Roscoe.
Eliot first came to fame on The Voice Belgique, where his blind audition caught the attention of coach Slimane. His vocal power, ease and sensitivity was noticed by the judges and the audiences, and even composer Pierre Dumoulin who said, ‘The moment I saw Eliot’s blind audition, I felt he had that little something extra that I look for in an artist, the sensitivity and fragility which are so necessary to convey emotion.’
The song he will sing will be released at a later date, so stay tuned for more news!
