Eurovision 2020: Beovizija song submission period begins

Serbian broadcaster RTS has opened the song submission period for the upcoming edition of Beovizija. Once again, Beovizija format will be used to select the Serbian act for Eurovision.

The submission period is now open until November 15th, where interested singers and songwriters can submit their songs to RTS. The exact dates of the competition are yet to be decided.

As per the Eurovision rules, songs must not exceed three minutes, and must not have been commercially released prior to September 1st, 2019. In addition to that, the broadcaster also requires that the lyrics of the songs must be performed in one of the official languages of Serbia. Foreign composers can compete in Beovizija, but the singers must be citizens of Serbia.

This will be the third year in a row that Beovizija will be used to select the Serbian Eurovision entry. Previous to that, the broadcaster had used a mixture of internal and public selections.
