Earlier this year, Slovenian broadcaster RTVSLO confirmed the national selection format EMA to select their Eurovision act for 2020. In addition to the regular format, the broadcaster also launched a new aspect to their selection which is EMA Freš.
The Slovenian broadcaster has now announced more details about EMA Freš. In total, there will be 18 songs competing in EMA Freš, and two of those acts will continue through to the main EMA selection. This new addition to the EMA format is designed to give artists under the age of 26 who have not commercially released more than three copyrighted songs a platform to showcase their music.
The competition will begin on November 4th, and will last for five weeks. Stay tuned for more news from Slovenia!
