From Backing Singer to Centre Stage: Vasil Garvanliev to Represent North Macedonia!

The Macedonian broadcaster has now announced that Vasil Garvanliev will represent North Macedonia at Eurovision this year, which will be held in Rotterdam. This won’t be his first Eurovision experience, having featured as part of Tamara Todevska’s backing vocal team in 2019.

Speaking about his upcoming gig, Vasil says, ‘I am beyond honoured to present my country at the Song Contest in Rotterdam and I can hardly wait to put all my experience and knowledge into creating a magical journey that will touch people’s heart across Europe.’

Vasil Garvanliev began his music journey at the age of 7, where he performed in various children’s festivals. Not long after, he and his family moved to the United States, where he became a soloist in the Chicago Children’s Choir.

Since then, he has had over 50 operatic roles and recitals at music festivals, and has collaborated with a number of artists. He has since returned to North Macedonia, and has released three hit singles, Gerdan, Patuvam and Mojata Ulica. He has his first solo concert in November of last year, and it was a sold out event.

The song that Vasil will be singing at Eurovision will be released at a later date. For now, listen to some of his previous singles below:
