Over the last few months, the new part to the Slovenian National Selection, EMA Freš, has been taking place, however now the competition has concluded.

A total of 18 songs took part in EMA Freš, however the final contained just 10 of those entries. In the televised final, two of the artists were selected to continue through to the main EMA selection. This new addition to the EMA format is designed to give artists under the age of 26 who have not commercially released more than three copyrighted songs a platform to showcase their music.

Here are the finalists:

  • Alfirev – Črno bela lika
  • Astrid in Avantgarden – Sing To Me
  • Klarity – Diham
  • Lana Hrvatin – Dream
  • Marmoris – Moj pristan
  • Parvani Violet – Cupid
  • Pia Nina – Tukaj in zdaj
  • Saška – Še kar lovim tvoj nasmeh
  • Stella – Ne vem, če sem v redu

This will be her fifth participation in the Slovenian national selection, having attempted to represent Slovenia in 1997, 1999 and 2001 before she won the selection in 2014.

Lina Kuduzović will also be a familiar name for Junior Eurovision fans, as she represented Slovenia back in 2015 with the song Prva Ljubezen, which finished in 3rd place.

The main EMA selection will take place on the 22nd of February. During the show, a professional jury will select two super finalists who will perform again in a second round. From there, the public will be able to vote on the final two acts, with the winner to go on to represent Slovenia at Eurovision.
