After weeks of rumours, the Greek broadcaster ERT have now confirmed that Dutch-Greek singer Stefania Liberakakis will be representing the nation with the song SUPERG!RL in the upcoming edition of the Eurovision Song Contest.
Fans may recognise Stefania from Junior Eurovision 2016, where she performed in the group Kisses. The group performed the song Kisses and Dancin’ and finished in 8th place at the contest. Prior to that, she had participated in the Voice Kids.
The Greek broadcaster has chosen to work with Dimitris Kontopoulos alongside the group Arcade for the entry this year, which is titled SUPERG!RL. This year will make Kontopoulos’ 10th participation at the contest since composing the 2007 Belarusian entry, Work Your Magic. The lyrics of this year’s entry will be written by Sharon Vaughn, who previously worked on the Russian entry in 2019, Scream.
It has also been revealed that Fokas Evangelinos will be the creative director for the entry at Eurovision. He has previously staged two winning entries, Helena Paparizou’s My Number One and Dima Bilan’s Believe. Fokas Evangelinos and Dimitris Kontopoulos have worked together on a number of Eurovision entries in the past decade.
