Israel will kick off the search for their next Eurovision act on October 30, with the first episode of X Factor Israel set to air.
The nation previously announced changes to their selection process for Eurovision, with X Factor now part of that process. The audition phase of the competition will air this weekend. The taping of the auditions took place earlier in the year.
The Israeli Eurovision entry will be determined later on in the X Factor season. At the semi-final stage of the competition, the contestants will compete in an alternate semi-final that KAN 11 will broadcast. In this semi-final, the remaining four participants will perform two original songs each. All of the competing songs will be selected by a professional committee.
Each competing artist will qualify with one of the two songs. Reshet 13 will broadcast the final. The artists will compete with the qualifying song, and the winner will go on to represent Israel at Eurovision next year.
