🇸🇪 Melodifestivalen: Cornelia Jakobs and Robin Bengtsson Direct to Final

The first Melodifestivalen semi-final is complete, with the first finalists decided. The show took place at the Avicii Arena, hosted by Oscar Zia.

A total of 7 acts competed, with two chosen to qualify directly to the final. Another two acts will enter the 5th semi-final, which is acting as a second chance round this year.

There are some voting changes this year, with the process taking place over two rounds. The song with the most votes in the first round will qualify directly to the final. In the second round, the top placed song will also qualify directly to the final. The songs that placed second and third in the second round will move on to the 5th semi-final. The age-group system of voting will be used, with each age group to carry a score of 12, 10, 8, 5, 3 and 1. The full breakdown of votes for each age group will be shown on screen.

The first finalist is Cornelia Jakobs with her song, Hold Me Closer. Robin Bengtsson is the second finalist with his song, Innocent Love.

Danne Stråhed and THEOZ will progress to the 5th semi-final for a second chance.
