The search for the next Icelandic Eurovision representative continues, with the second semi-final of Söngvakeppnin now complete. The final five acts performed their entries, with just two acts qualifying to the final.
A total of 10 acts will be competing across two semi-finals, with the two artists from each semi-final with the highest scores qualifying to the final.
Here is the line-up:
- Hanna Mia and the Astrotourists – “Séns með þér” (See you soon) / “Gemini”
- Katla – “Þaðan af” (From there) / “Then again”
- Markéta Irglová – “Mögulegt” (Possible) / “Possible”
- Reykjavikurdaetur – “Tökum af stað” (Let’s get started) / “Turn this around”
- Suncity and Sanna – “Hækkum í botn” (Let’s go to the bottom) / “Keep it cool”
The top two this week were Katla and Reykjavikurdaetur. The jury selected Amarosis as the wildcard finalist. The final line-up is as follows:
- Amarosis – “Don’t You Know”
- Katla – “Þaðan af” (From there) / “Then again”
- Reykjavikurdaetur – “Tökum af stað” (Let’s get started) / “Turn this around”
- Sigga, Beta & Elín – “Með hækkandi sól” (With the rising sun)
- Stefán Óli – “Ljósið” (The light)/ “All I know”
All participants performed in Icelandic during the semi-finals, however during the final they will perform in the language they intend to use at Eurovision. Sigga, Beta & Elín are the only act of this year’s selection that has only an Icelandic version.
