This year, the Spanish broadcaster TVE decided to internally select their representative. The singer they elected is Edurne, a young, popular artist in Spain. It was also announced that she would be singing a Spanish language song called Amanecer, which means ‘Break of Day.’ Despite knowing the title of the song, Eurovision fans had to patiently wait for the official release of the song. Sneak peeks were released in the meantime, however the big reveal was only yesterday. The powerful ballad was written by Tony Sanchez, Thomas G:son and Peter Bostrom, the two latter writers having a lot of success in recent years, winning with Sweden’s Euphoria in 2012.
Edurne was enthusiastic about the release, saying that she would have loved to have released it earlier! The song discusses heartbreak, and even those who do not speak Spanish will feel the power of the lyrics through her performance.
The video is expected to be released on the 9th of March. For now, you can listen to the song by clicking on the link here
