2015 Reviews – Cyprus – Giannis Karayiannis – One Thing I Should Have Done

I have one question for Cyprus – Why didn’t you pick Minus One?!?!?!! I think there’s more place this year for a good quality rock song, more than there is for yet another slow song. And this really isn’t one of the better slow songs.

Giannis Karayiannis isn’t the problem here. If the song was more….. dynamic, or at least, if it had less repetition, I think Cyprus would have had more of a chance of success. The song is really repetitive and flat, and in a contest full of similar songs, it really needed something to make it stand out from all the other acts, but rather, it blends in, which will come to their detriment as no one will remember the song come recap time.

I feel really bad for Cyprus, as they could have the same success that Greece has, but they really have to work hard for it, whereas Greece breezes through to the final without fail. I really hope this song doesn’t come last, but at the same time, it wouldn’t surprise me if it did, just simply because for first time viewers of the performance on the night really won’t remember it, unless there’s some crazy props on stage. Again, I really think Minus one would have been a much better act, simply because of the contrast it would have had amongst the other songs this year.

As such, I’m going to give this song a 5/10. I don’t hate the song, but I don’t love it either.
