Ira Losco to return to Eurovision for Malta!

Out of a total qualified number of 14 songs in the Maltese national final, the public and international jury has decided that it will be Ira Losco who will represent Malta once again. Dedicated fans will recognise that Ira, who is one of Malta’s most popular artists competed back in 2002 where she finished in second place – her goal, to one better that result and bring the contest to Malta.

The show was opened by Destiny Chukunyere, who won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2015, making that the second time for Malta to win this format of the contest. She also performed a number of covers during the interval. Last year’s participant Amber also entertained audiences with some pop jazz from her upcoming debut album. The host of the show was actor and model Ben Camille.

The finalists were:

  1. All Around The World sung by Deborah C.

  2. Little Love sung by Franklin.

  3. Under The Sun sung by Daniel Testa.

  4. Golden sung by Brooke.

  5. Flashing Lights sung by Raquel.

  6. Kingdom sung by Christabelle.

  7. Falling Glass sung by Corazón.

  8. Fire Burn sung by Dominic.

  9. The Flame sung by Jessika.

  10. Alive sung by Jasmine.

  11. You’re Beautiful sung by Lawrence Gray.

  12. Young Love sung by Maxine

  13. Chameleon (Invincible) sung by Ira Losco.

  14. Lighthouse sung by Kim.

The winner was chosen by five judges, and then televoting acted as the sixth vote.

Although the song Chameleon was chosen, it is not yet 100% confirmed whether this will be the song Ira will be taking to the Eurovision stage. More details about the choice will come in the following months.
