Out of a total qualified number of 14 songs in the Maltese national final, the public and international jury has decided that it will be Ira Losco who will represent Malta once again. Dedicated fans will recognise that Ira, who is one of Malta’s most popular artists competed back in 2002 where she finished in second place – her goal, to one better that result and bring the contest to Malta.
The show was opened by Destiny Chukunyere, who won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2015, making that the second time for Malta to win this format of the contest. She also performed a number of covers during the interval. Last year’s participant Amber also entertained audiences with some pop jazz from her upcoming debut album. The host of the show was actor and model Ben Camille.
