Spain has Chosen: Barei says Yay!

Six acts were in the running this year to represent Spain. The fresh faced youngsters competed on Objetivo Eurovision 2016, which was held in Madrid, and hosted by Anna Igariburu. The six acts competing were:

  • Maverick – Un Mundo mas feliz

  • Barei – Say Yay!

  • Xuso Jones – Victorious

  • Salvador Beltran – Dias de Alegria

  • Maria Isabel – La vida solo es una

  • Electric Nana – Now

You might recognise Maria Isabel, who actually won the 2nd edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest with the song Antes Muerta Que Sencilla. Since then, she’s definitely grown up!

Despite the past Eurovision experience, Maria ended up in 4th place, with the final placings as follows:

  1. Barei – 114 points

  2. Xuso Jones – 94 points

  3. Salvador Baltran – 72 points

  4. Maria Isabel 68 points

  5. Electric Nana – 66 points

  6. Maverick – 66 points
