Portugal: Final 8 Festival da Canção participants revealed!

Last week, we revealed the first 8 participants for Portugal’s national final Festival da Canção, and now, we know the final 8 who will participate in the second semi-final. The participants for semi 2 are:

• David Gomes (Toli César Machado)

• Lena D’Água (Pedro Silva Martins)

• Beatriz Felício (Jorge Fernando)

• Pedro Gonçalves (João Pedro Coimbra)

• Helena Kendall (João Só)

• Celina da Piedade (Celina da Piedade)

• Jorge Benvinda (Nuno Figueiredo)

• Elisa Rodrigues (David Santos – Noiserv)

Within this list, there are a total of three former The Voice participants, making the total list of The Voice participants at 6 out of the 16 acts competing in the national final. In semi-final 1, Fernando Daniel, Rui Drumond and Deolinda Kinzimba have all previously won The Voice in Portugal, making them all great potential Eurovision candidates. From the second semi-final, David Gomes, Beatriz Felício and Pedro Gonçalves all featured on the Voice. David was part of the quarter finals, Beatriz made it to the knock out rounds and Pedro was the runner up in the 2015 season of The Voice.

The semi-finals will be held on the 19^th and 26^th of February, and the final will be held on the 5^th of March. The show is also celebrating 60 years since the launch of the broadcaster’s first channel, RTP1. The winner of the show will represent Portugal at Eurovision in Kyiv.
