Iceland: The finalists are chosen, plus one lucky wildcard!

This weekend, the second semi-final of Iceland’s national final Söngvakeppnin took place, with the last three spots in the final up for grabs. Additionally, there was one wildcard qualification to an act who didn’t make it through from either of the semi-finals.

The full line-up of last night’s show was:

  • Linda Hartmanns – Ástfangin

  • Daði Freyr Pétursson – Hvað með það?

  • Svala Björgvinsdóttir – Ég veit það

  • Páll Rósinkranz & Kristina Bærendsen – Þú og ég

  • Sólveig Ásgeirsdóttir – Treystu á mig

  • Aron Brink – Þú hefur dáleitt mig

The three qualifying acts as decided by 100% public vote were:

  • Daði Freyr Pétursson – Hvað með það?

  • Svala Björgvinsdóttir – Ég veit það

  • Aron Brink – Þú hefur dáleitt mig

The wildcard went to Hildur, who performed last week in the first semi-final with the song Bammbaramm.

As you may recall, the songs of all the participants have been recorded in English and Icelandic, and in the semi-finals all the participants performed in Icelandic, however in the final, the artists can choose their preferred language.
