Melfest Semi-Final 1: Here are the results!

One of the most anticipated national selections of the Eurovision pre-season is Swedish spectacular, Melodifestivalen, and finally we’ve got our fix! The first of four semi-finals took place last night, with seven acts taking to the stage fighting to stay in the competition!

The first semi-final took place in Karlstad, and was hosted by David Lindgren, who will be hosting all the shows in this season of Melodifestivalen. This week we saw seven diverse acts, but at the end of all the performances, only two acts can advance directly to the final, while two get a second chance in the Andra Chansen round. This means that the journey will end for three semi-finalists, so let’s see who participated!

  • Sigrid Bernson – Patrick Swayze

  • John Lundvik – My Turn

  • Renaida – All The Feels

  • Edward Blom – Livet På En Pinne

  • Kikki Danielsson – Osby Tennessee

  • Kamferdrops – Solen Lever Kvar Hos Dig

  • Benjamin Ingrosso – Dance You Off

The top two of the night were Benjamin Ingrosso and John Lundvik, who are both straight into the final which will take place on the 10th of March. Into the second chance round are Renaida with her song All the Feels, and Sigrid Bernson with the song Patrick Swayze.

This means that we’ll be saying goodbye to Edward Blom, Kikki Danielsson and Kamferdrops.

Next week we’ll be seeing some big names in the semi-final, including Samir & Viktor, Margaret, Mimi Werner and LIAMOO! Stay tuned for the snippets and rehearsal videos for the semi-final 2 participants later this week!
