Although they failed to win Eurovision, or even qualify for that matter, the Macedonian representatives Eye Cue haven’t left empty handed. It’s now official that Eye Cue have taken out the Barbara Dex Award for worst dressed of 2018!
The vote, which took place on songfestival.be ran over the week, and as they report, FYR Macedonia took the lead early and held on to that lead for the remainder of the voting. It’s easy to see why, with the lead artist Marija opening their performance with a backwards pink jacket, which was taken off mid-performance to reveal an interestingly embellished jumpsuit. Her bandmate Bojan wasn’t innocent in this either, wearing a patterned black and white shirt which almost had no connection to Marija’s outfit.
The vote is unofficial and all a bit of fun, but Eye Cue will join a string of Barbara Dex Award winners including last year’s winner Slavko and even fellow Macedonian artist Martin Vučić who won the award back in 2005.
