It has been a hot minute since we’ve had new music from French trio Twin Twin, but the group announced their latest single Vapeur on social media with the track now available to listen!
You may remember Twin Twin from Eurovision 2014 where they represented France with the memorable, but unfortunately unsuccessful song Moustache. Although the group came last in the final, we loved their energy and charisma on stage.
The group consists of Lorent Idir, François Djemel and Patrick Biyik who formed back in 2010. Previous to their Eurovision performance in 2014, Twin Twin released the album Vive la Vie (which was later re-released to include their Eurovision entry Moustache) which was released under Warner Music France.
In more recent years, the group has been to New York to compose new music, and since their Eurovision performance and Vive la Vie, their sound has changed quite considerably. Whilst we would describe Moustache as pop oriented and full of energy, the group’s two latest singles demonstrate a more relaxed side of the trio.
A month back, the single Maintenant je sais was released with a very relaxed hip-hop sound. Keeping with the French language creates a smoothness in the song, and that mixed with the beat makes this song perfect to unwind.
Only a couple of days ago, the group released their latest single Vapeur which is still relaxed, but slightly more upbeat than their previous. Both songs are currently available on SoundCloud, although Maintenant je sais has been released on YouTube with the official music video.
