Serhat Returns for San Marino’s Anniversary Appearance!

This year marks the 10th appearance of San Marino at Eurovision, and their broadcaster San Marino RTV have now announced their Eurovision entrant for this year.

The broadcaster looked internationally for their act this year, and they have revealed now that they approached a former Eurovision participant. This year San Marino will be represented by Serhat, who we last saw participate at Eurovision back in 2016 with the song ‘I Didn’t Know.

While working on his new album, Serhat was approached by the San Marino broadcaster to see whether he would accept the invitation to return to Eurovision for the nation. He commented, saying, ‘San Marino is always in my heart, our friendship lasts forever and ESC 2016 was probably one of the best memories of my career. Despite my tight schedule, it didn’t take me long to decide. I am very proud to represent San Marino for the second time’

Representatives from the broadcaster have also commented on their selection, saying, ‘When we started to plan the next edition of ESC, we realized that this participation will be our 10th entry. It is a “round” number, an important goal for us, and we thought that we should celebrate our anniversary in Israel, with someone special. We were always in touch with Serhat during the last two years and now after 2016, we are fully empowered and believe that Serhat being full of interesting ideas, is the right choice in the right moment’

The song, which earlier this month was in post-production will be released at a later date.
