Sanremo 2019 Concludes – Mahmood wins with ‘Soldi’

Over five nights, Italy showcased the best of Italian music through the iconic song festival, Sanremo. The show concluded on Saturday night, with the winner now crowned! The winner of the show also gets first rights to accept or decline the opportunity to represent the nation at Eurovision.

There were 24 competitors and they were:

  • Achille Lauro – Rolls Royce
  • Anna Tatangelo – Le nostre anime di notte
  • Arisa – Mi sento bene
  • Boomdabash – Per un millione
  • Daniele Silvestri – Argento vivo
  • Einar – Parole nuove
  • Enrico Nigiotti – Nonno Hollywood
  • Ex-Otago – Solo una canzone
  • Federica Carta & Shade – Senza farlo apposta
  • Francesco Renga – Aspetto che torni
  • Ghemon – Rose Viola
  • Il Volo – Musica che resta
  • Irama – La ragazza con il cuore di latta
  • Loredana Bertè – Cosa ti aspetti di me
  • Mahmood –  Soldi
  • Motta – Dov’è Italia
  • Negrita – I ragazzi stanno bene
  • Nek – Mi farò trovare pronto
  • Nino D’Angelo & Livio Cori – Un’altra luce
  • Paola Turci – L’ultimo ostacolo
  • Patty Pravo & Briga – Un po’ come la vita
  • Simone Cristicchi – Abbi cura di me
  • Ultimo – I tuoi particolari
  • Zen Circus – L’amore è una dittatura

On the final night, after all the performances, the top 3 acts advanced to the Superfinal where they would face another vote.

Here is the final result for the Top 3 acts:

  • Mahmood – Soldi (38.9%)
  • Ultimo – I Tuoi Particolari (35.6%)
  • Il Volo – Musica che resta (25.5%)

At the winner’s press conference, it was confirmed that Mahmood would be representing Italy at Eurovision with the song Soldi.
