Cyprus Will Not Return To Junior Eurovision 2019

Cypriot broadcaster CyBC have now confirmed that Cyprus will not be returning to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest this year.

Head of Delegation for Cyprus, Evi Papamichael has confirmed that due to a ‘management decision’ the nation will not be competing at this year’s contest which is set to take place in Gliwice-Silesia in Poland.

The last time Cyprus competed at Junior Eurovision was back in 2017 with Nicole Nicolaou who unfortunately finished in last place at the contest. Cyprus has participated at the contest a total of 9 times, and was one of the nations to compete in the debut year of the contest. Their best result thus far is 8th place which they achieved in both 2004 and 2006.
