Latvian broadcaster LTV has now confirmed that they have no intentions on returning to Junior Eurovision this year.
The broadcaster released a statement, saying ‘Our priorities this year is the participation in the Eurovision Song Contest and Eurovision Choir. The preparation of our entries for both competitions is a long and complicated process both for the artists and production teams, therefore we have decided to participate in these two.’
Latvia was one of the nations to compete in the debut edition of the contest and competed for three years before withdrawing from the competition. They then returned in 2010 and competed in 2011 before withdrawing again. Latvia has not competed since 2011.
