Would-be debutant Liechtenstein have ruled out participation at Eurovision 2020.
Broadcaster 1FLTV have confirmed that they will not be participating at next year’s contest, despite their interest in participating at the contest. There was no official reason given, however to be able to participate, the broadcaster must become a full EBU member and additionally would need to gain the support of the government in order to secure funding.
Liechtenstein had previously hoped to debut back in 1976, however had no broadcaster at the time. Current broadcaster 1FLTV was formed in 2008, and since then, the nation has worked towards debuting at the contest however it is now known that 2020 will not be the debut year.
