The Dutch Junior Eurovision selection has taken place, with the next representative determined. Ayana will represent the nation with ‘Mata Sugu Aō Ne’ in Paris later this year.
Four acts competed in the selection which was hosted by Romy Monteiro and Buddy Vedder. The winner was determined with a mix of a kids jury, professional jury and televote. The kids jury consisted of Junior Songfestival 2020 winners Unity and finalists Robin de Haas and Jackie & Janae. The professional jury consisted of Jeangu Macrooy, Emma Heesters and Rolf Sanchez.
The competitors were:
- Priscilla – Be Alright
- Shine – A Million Little Things
- Ayana – Mata Sugu Aō Ne
- Melody – Niet Wat Vrienden Doen
The kids jury awarded their 12 points to Ayana, followed by Shine. The professional jury also awarded their 12 points to Ayana, with Melody their second choice. The televote awarded 12 points to Shine, followed by Melody.
With the points combined, Ayana finished in top position with a total of 33 points. In second place was Shine with 30 points, Melody with 28 points and Priscilla with 26 points.
