2015 Reviews – San Marino – Michele Perniola & Anita Simoncini – Chain of Lights
San Marino finally stepped away from Valentina Monetta, and is giving two young stars the chance to show their stuff and represent their country with pride. Michele Perniola and Anita Simoncini are unique in the sense that both participated in Junior Eurovision, Michele in 2013, and Anita only months ago!
I really loved Michele in Junior Eurovision, so I was overjoyed when I heard that he would be singing at Eurovision. I knew his voice was fabulous, so I was hoping that they created a song that was young, fresh, modern and suited to the young singers. Well, we got the complete opposite. The song is so old fashioned and it’s a shame, as they had so much potential.
I remember when I first heard it, I actually laughed. I didn’t take it seriously. This song is just three minutes of plodding along, and it makes me so annoyed! The start is so over dramatic, and I just can’t deal with it. Good luck to them, I hope they achieve better than they did at Junior Eurovision, but I honestly can’t see this making an impact on the night. It’s very easily forgotten.
All I can say is that I really hope their live vocals are extraordinary. But for now, I’m going to give this song a 4/10.
