San Marino recently confirmed that they will be present in Tel Aviv, Israel for the upcoming edition of Eurovision, and now we have more news on how their participant will be selected.
The nation’s broadcaster, San Marino RTV have now announced that the artist and song to represent San Marino have been internally selected. Earlier it was speculated that the same national selection process as 2018 would be used, however this has not eventuated with the broadcaster recently stating that 1 in 360 would not be used to select San Marino’s Eurovision act for 2019.
The broadcaster has also stated that in a few weeks there will be a press conference to reveal more information about their 2019 participation. The head of delegation, Alessandro Capicchioni and RTV Director General Carlo Romeo have both stated that the best project has been selected, and they hope that it will bring San Marino success in Israel.
The artist is international, and the song is currently in post-production with a video clip also part of the package. Carlo Romeo has stated, ‘This year we have worked hard on several proposals, as the Israeli edition is important to us for many reasons. Eventually we chose the best project, fully supported and approved with a wonderful International artist. Fingers crossed, but I think we will have a very good entry.’
