The Kazakh national selection has now taken place, with 12 acts competing to become the next Junior Eurovision representative.
Broadcaster Khabar selected 9 composers and producers to create the songs that each of the 12 acts would perform at the national final. Here is the line-up:
- Islam Saypolda – Otan
- Tleubek Aykerim – Winner
- Kamila Gazizkyzy – Jeteleidi Arman
- Zhan Makim – Brave Heart
- Nurshat Kusanova – Týģan jer
- Saniya Altynbekkyzy – Ómir beles
- Makhinur Tursunova – Ulı dalanyń áýei
- Aidana Zhumazhan – Heal the World
- Akzhibek Manarbekkyzy – Jer-Ana
- Adiya Burkhanova – Muza
- Karakat Bashanova – Forever
- Ayim Mukitanova – Celebrate
The top three acts were Karakat Bashanova with 25.9% of the vote, Ayim Mukitanova with 25.1%, and Tleubek Aykerim with 24.2% of the vote. Karakat will now go on to represent Kazakhstan at Junior Eurovision with the song Forever.
This is not her first time participating in a singing competition, having participated on The Voice of Children 2018 where she was a finalist, and she also participated at the children’s vocal festival ‘Happy Child 2019’ where she finished in 3rd.
The 12-year-old performer dedicates her Junior Eurovision entry to her father who had recently passed away. Her song Forever was written by Khamit Shanngaliyev, who also wrote last year’s entry for Yerzhan Maxim, which finished 2nd in the competition.
