Norwegian broadcaster NRK has released more details surrounding their upcoming national selection, Melodi Grand Prix. The first 10 artists have been announced, 6 of which are automatically qualified to the final, with the remaining 4 artists competing in the first semi-final set to take place January 16th.
Similar to the 2020 selection, there will be 5 semi-finals and a Grand Final. A total of 4 artists will compete in each semi-final, with just one artist qualifying to the final. Once all the semi-finals have taken place, the audience will get to choose an additional artist to compete in the Grand Final.
The 6 pre-qualified artists are as follows:
The song will be released on Friday 15 January and will be performed during Semi Final 1 on 16 January.

The song will be released on Friday 22 January and will be performed during Semi Finale 2 on 23 January.
- Kaja Rode –Feel Again
The song will be released on Friday 29 January and will be performed during Semi Finale 3 on 30 January.
- Atle Petterson –Â Word On Fire
The song will be released on Friday 5 January and will be performed during Semi Final 4 on 6 February.
- Rein Alexander –Â Eyes Wide Open
The song will be released on Friday 12 February and will be performed during Semi Finale 5 on 13 February.
The four artists competing in the first semi-final are:

- BlÃ¥semafian – Let Loose
- Jorn –Â Faith Bloody Faith
- Stina Talling –Â Elevate
The remaining semi-finalists will be revealed prior to their semi-finals.
