Each week, Eurovision Union is dedicated to bring you a specially curated playlist featuring a whole bunch of our favourite songs from this week, from both national final and Eurovision stars new and old. This week we’ve got a mixed bag of new songs from former Eurovision stars, along with some national final treasures.
Listen to the playlist here:
Let’s start this week’s playlist with the tracks from former Eurovision stars, including 2017 Dutch representative OG3NE. We’ve picked a song off their 2016 album release titled We Got This, and the song we’ve picked is called What You Do. We’ve got Tim Schou, who was the lead of the band A Friend In London, who represented Denmark back in 2011. Tim’s latest release is titled Morrison, which you can listen to on this playlist! We have the hotly anticipated track from Loreen titled Jungle, which is one of the tracks to be featured on either her upcoming EP, or album (or both).
Former Montenegrin Eurovision act Who See have also released a new album, titled Pamidore. We’ve taken the track Pucačina Po Budvi which features Random and Iva. Former Bulgarian Eurovision act of 2011 and 2016, and former Junior Eurovision host Poli Genova has released her most recent song Oshte in English, which is called Can U Remember Me.
Cypriot representative of 2013 Despina Olympiou released a new track a couple of months back, titled Panta Erhete I Avgi. We’ve also featured fellow 2013 representative from Belgium, Roberto Bellarosa with the song Suis ta Route. We’ve got the newest tracks from Alexey Vorobyov and Vaidas Baumila, who participated in Eurovision in 2011 and 2015 respectively (for Russia, and Lithuania respectively!). We’ve also featured Tooji, one of our favourites with the song Packin’ Guns.
A bunch of remixes are coming out of the 2017 Eurovision songs, so we thought we’d feature a couple, including the remix of the Swedish entry I Can’t Go On by Robin Bengtsson. We’ve also got the Icelandic entry Paper with the Daði Freyr remix, and as you’ll remember, he actually came second to Svala in the Icelandic national final! Although not a remix, it’s keeping with the Icelandic theme, as we’ve featured the 2012 Icelandic entry by Greta Salome and Jónsi but in Icelandic language, which is titled Mundu Eftir Mér.
Now the tracks from national finals, or national final stars, including Mia Diekow, a former German national finalist. We LOVE her song Black Beauty, but this week we’ve featured her actual national final song, which is called Lieblingslied. Also formerly from the German national final is Madeline Juno, and we’ve got her track called No Words. From Melfest, we’ve got Oscar Zia with the song I Want You.
One of our favourite songs in the Maltese national final of 2014 was L-Ahwa with the song Beautiful to Me, which featured former Eurovision performer Gianluca as part of the group. From the Latvian national final of 2015, we’ve got Mntha with the song Nefelibata. From the 2013 Hungarian national final participant Odett, we’ve got the song Szép Mentés. Last but not least, we’ve got one of our favourite Italian national finalists, Clementino with the song Al Tramonto.
