Eurovision Union’s Weekly Playlist (41/52)

Each week, Eurovision Union brings you a specially curated playlist featuring songs recently released by Eurovision or National Final artists, and a few of our old favourites. This week, we’ve got some new releases, plus a whole bunch of old favourites from previous Eurovision stars!

Listen to the playlist here:

This week let’s start with the songs from former Eurovision artists, of which there are many this week! Starting with one of our favourite new releases which comes from our own Aussie superstar Guy Sebastian who will be releasing his new album soon! This week we’ve taken one of the singles off the new album, which is titled Keep Me Coming Back. There has also been a new release from fellow 2015 Eurovision star Polina Gagarina, as well as 2016 Eurovision winner Jamala, both of which you can listen to on this playlist!

Let’s move along to the Scandi tunes of this week, starting with Finland’s own Mikael Saari. His album was our Album of the Year in 2016, so we wanted to remind ourselves why we loved that album so much, so we’ve taken one of the more melancholy tunes called Pray For My Soul. From Denmark, we’ve got a newer tune from former front man of the band A Friend In London, Tim Schou. The song is called Young Vince, and it’s got one of the most beautiful melodies of the songs in this week’s playlist! From Norway, we’ve got former winner Alexander Rybak with a previous release titled I Came To Love You. From Sweden, we’ve got Eric Saade with one of his previous Melodifestivalen tunes called Sting. We’ve also got former Eurovision participant Martin Stenmarck with a newer song called Du Tar Mig Tillbaks.

From Europe’s East, we’ve got sister act Inga and Anush with the song Hay, Hay off their 2014 album Sketches. We’ve also got former Eurovision participant from Turkey, Hadise, who has recently released a new album and we’ve taken one of the most popular tracks from the album titled Sıfır Tolerans. Also from Turkey, we’ve got one of our favourite bands, Mor Ve Ötesi with the song Oyunbozan. From Israel, we’ve got Nadav Guedj with his previous release titled Jump! From Greece, we’ve got former winner Helena Paparizou with her song Fiesta.

We’ve also got Marija Šerifović, another former Eurovision winner, this time we’ve picked the song Pametna I Luda. Lots of former Eurovision winners this week, as we’ve also included Lena with a song off her most recent album, the song titled Galaxies.

The other tracks we’ve got on this week’s playlist include This Is What We Are by Swiss band Sinplus, as well as Desperado by Timebelle, who also represented Switzerland at the contest. From Italy we have the national finalist of Sanremo, Moreno with one of our favourite tracks from his discography Col Sorriso which features fellow rapper J-AX. We’ve also got a newer track from former Cypriot representative Jon Lilygreen, who is currently a part of the X Factor UK series. The song we’ve featured is called Baby You Know. Last but not least, we have the newest track from Ruth Lorenzo which is titled Good Girls Don’t Lie.
