Eurovision Union’s Weekly Playlist (27/52)

Each week, Eurovision Union is dedicated to bring you a specially curated playlist featuring a bunch of our favourite songs from the week, from both national final and Eurovision stars new and old. This week we’ve got a mixture of new tracks from both Eurovision and National Final stars, plus some of our recent national final discoveries!

Listen to the playlist here:

Today we’ll start off with some of the new releases from National Final stars, including Finnish UMK star Lauri Yrjölä. He was one of our favourite acts of this year’s UMK, and although he didn’t win, we were excited to hear future music, and now we can enjoy his new single Sun Vieressä on this week’s playlist! From neighbours Sweden, Melfest favourite Wiktoria has also just dropped a new single titled I Won’t Stand In Your Way – I’m sure you would agree with us when we say we can never get sick of this voice! Dolly Style have also recently released a new EP with two tracks, Moonlight and Glitter, and this week we’ve got Moonlight on the playlist.

Keeping with the Swedish theme, we’ve featured Darin who you may remember from Eurovision 2013 as the interval act. A while back in our weekly playlists we featured Ja Må Du Leva, and this week we’ve got the acoustic version of the tune, which is just as good! We’ve also got two Swedish Melfest songs, one from this year, being Boogieman Blues by Owe Thörnqvist, and also Bada Nakna, which you’ll remember as the entry by the dynamic duo Samir and Viktor.

Continuing with the national final theme, we’ve got the acoustic version of Ida Una’s Dansk Melodi Grand Prix tune titled One. We’ve also fan favourite from Malta, Janice Mangion with her Maltese language tune Kewkba. From Iceland, we’ve got Rúnar Eff with the English version of his song for the Icelandic national final, titled Make Your Way Back Home. From eventual Eurovision winners Portugal, we’ve got Celina Da Piedade with her beautiful tune titled Primavera. Lastly from the 2017 national final season we’ve got Nutsa Buzaladze with the song White Horses Run.

Now to the newest releases from Eurovision stars, including two of our favourite 2017 Eurovision participants. Nathan Trent has previously released his Eurovision tune Running on Air in Italian, and now there’s a Spanish version as well, titled Aire! Joci Pápai dazzled us at Eurovision with Origo, and now he’s returned with a new track titled Özönviz which we fell in love with instantly, and you will too!

We’ve got a previous track from 2017 Latvian participants Triana Park, titled Sons and Daughters. We’ve also got a whole bunch of tracks from former Eurovision acts, including the Romanian band Voltaj, with the song Cred Ca-S Hip. We’ve got Hungarian Boggie, who participated in 2015, but today we’ve got the newer release titled Run to the River. From former Serbian participant Nevena Božović, we’ve got one of her new tracks titled Dangerous Drug. Sandhja represented Finland at Eurovision last year, and we love her style so we’ve featured the song My Bass off her 2016 released album.

Also from 2016 was Spanish representative Barei, who has just released three new singles, and we’ve got Worry Worry on this week’s Playlist. Last but not least we’ve got 2015 French participant Lisa Angell with the song Ma Vérité.
